Electrify America honored for battery energy storage innovation. Electrify America receives Inc. Best in Business honors for its battery energy storage rollout. The network has deployed over 170 BESS units to support high-speed EV charging in grid-constrained areas. Electrify America has been named to the Inc. Best in Business list within the Best in Innovation category. This recognition highlights the company's strategic execution of its battery energy storage system (BESS) rollout. The award celebrates initiatives that delivered significant business outcomes over the past year. * Award Recognition: Electrify America won "Best in Innovation" for its BESS deployment strategy. * Grid Support: The technology enables high-speed charging in areas with limited grid capacity. * Scale: Over 170 systems are deployed nationwide, totaling 65,000+ kWh of storage. * Capacity: BESS facilitates consistent 350 kW charging speeds for EV drivers. Strategic BESS implementation. The Inc. Best in Innovation category acknowledges inventions that drive meaningful results for the industry. Electrify America utilizes BESS to facilitate Hyper-Fast electric vehicle (EV) charging in grid-constrained locations. The system stores energy during low-usage periods. It subsequently discharges that energy during times of high demand. This load-balancing capability allows the network to install Hyper-Fast chargers where traditional infrastructure serves as a bottleneck. It ensures consistent service delivery regardless of immediate grid limitations. "Smart energy solutions can provide more charging access for more drivers," said Rob Barrosa, president and CEO of Electrify America. "Our BESS deployment is one example of how we pair innovation with practical challenges on the ground." Deployment metrics and impact. The network has aggressively expanded its storage footprint. Current deployment statistics include: * Total Units: More than 170 BESS units deployed nationwide. * Total Capacity: Over 65,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of installed energy storage. This infrastructure reduces strain on local electrical grids. It also shortens deployment timelines for new stations. Consequently, the technology expands charging accessibility for a wider range of EV drivers. Technical applications: the Baker station. BESS technology enables the delivery of an uncompromised 350 kW charging experience. A prime example of this architecture is the Electrify America station in Baker, California. This location features the company's first megawatt-level storage system. The site integrates 1.5 MW of energy storage with solar support and advanced controls. This supports up to 12 Hyper-Fast chargers. This hub is critical for connecting Los Angeles and Las Vegas, providing reliable access in a high-traffic corridor. About the Inc. Best in Business awards. Inc. editors reviewed applications to identify companies with outstanding influence on their industries. The awards are open to organizations of all sizes, including public, private, and international entities. "Each Best in Business honoree achieved a breakthrough moment this year," says Bonny Ghosh, editorial director at Inc. Electrify America wins Reuters Automotive D.R.I.V.E. Honors for Innovation. Electrify America wins Reuters automotiv... In a significant innovation award announcement last week, Electrify America was awarded the Reuters Events 2025 Automotive D.R.I.V.E Honours for Innovation. This recognition celebrates companies driving innovation within the global automotive industry through advances in technology, R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, or partnerships. Before Carlist go any further here, let Carlist first explain who Carlist is referring to in this piece. Electrify America LLC is the largest open Hyper-Fast charging network in the U.S., and is investing more than $2 billion in Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure and access. The investment enables millions of Americans to charge with confidence and discover the benefits of electric driving on its coast - to - coast network of highway and community chargers. Electrify America received the award for its battery energy storage system (BESS) deployment, a solution that helps enable Hyper-Fast electric vehicle ( EV) charging in areas with limited grid capacity. By storing energy during low usage periods and discharging it during high demand, BESS can help bring Hyper-Fast EV charging to locations where traditional infrastructure alone cannot meet demand. To date, Electrify America has more than 170 BESS deployments coupled with charging stations, totaling over 65,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy storage deployed. This innovation helps reduce strain on the electrical grid, shorten station deployment timelines, and increase charging accessibility for EV drivers. "The addition of BESS across our network is a game changer for the EV industry," said Rob Barrosa, president and CEO of Electrify America. "They're enabling us to deliver Hyper-Fast charging in locations where existing grid infrastructure alone may not have allowed the addition of EV charging." In California, Electrify America's BESS deployments collectively operate as the largest virtual power plant of their kind, integrating renewable energy and supporting the stability of the state's electrical grid. This includes Electrify America's first megawatt (MW)-level BESS in Baker, California, which integrates 1.5 MW of energy storage, solar support, and advanced controls technology to power up to 12 Hyper-Fast chargers where utility capacity and grid limitations would have otherwise made it impossible. Carlist thoughts. Electrify America's Hyper-Fast network currently operates in 47 states and the District of Columbia, supporting increasing ZEV adoption with a network that is convenient, technologically advanced and built for customers.
